From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces growing in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem out of place, but the actions of the third episode show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their status as important members in House Halovar could enable the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
